Happy Grandparents' Day

This weekend we were visited by Grandma, Grandpa, James, Kristi and Kayci. It was the first time they came to see us at our new house in Puh-Full-Uger-Ville.

On Friday night we had s'mores which almost started with an unplanned introduction to the local fire department thanks to Grandpa's inexplicable love for lighter fluid.

Frick and Frack. And some little girl that showed up after the fire department left.

The adults had nothing to do with the planning of the Grandparents' Day celebration, I swear. It's hard to believe with such cool party hats, though.

As his punishment for almost burning down our new house (to be fair, our new porch), Grandpa is forced to blow out trick candles while wearing a dish towel on his head.

Utopian Values

Even before we made the decision to move to Pflugerville earlier this summer we have been planning a trip to Utopia, TX. Well, Josh H has been planning a trip and we are generally along for the ride, which as it turned out was fine for us considering we just moved in to our new house the weekend before.

This was the second time that I've been to Utopia and one thing that I can count on is to spend a lot of time in the kitchen with Josh H.

There's easily a couple hundred acres to be had and generally we spend the majority of our time in the small 6x6 kitchen.

You might be wondering why Josh K and myself are seemingly attacking white clumps of dough with large knives. That's a valid concern. We learned that frozen biscuits are absolutely delicious, BUT don't let them thaw and then re-freeze. If that happens you end up with a (as mentioned before) large white clump of dough. In the end these biscuits turned out yummy - thanks to the chainsaw.

Hilarity ensues with the Fry Daddy! First, plastic bags obviously melt when they come in contact with hot metal and next, hot grease narrowly escapes my head when the picnic table hosting the Fry Daddy tips over in mid-fry. Unfortunately, there goes my HUGE bass - right onto the grass. However, considering I walked away with no blisters I was glad to see the fried fish there on the ground.

This looks strange, but it is actually normal behavior for Josh H and David. They do this all the time, much to the chagrin of Alicia and Kandy.

Besides me catching the biggest fish (and probably the biggest bass of my life) in 6" of water, the only obvious thing here is that Josh H needs to work out more.

Not really sure who's winning here - Kandy or the tube...

The gang out on a "short" walk down the river.

Josh K showing us how the K-Dawg does it.

The girls doing their thing on the couch. They sure are touching an awful lot....
